Montgomery Academy’s Upper School Campus was presented with a PALS Clean Campus Program. The ninth through twelfth graders received a treasure trove of practical and innovative activities and ideas.
Mary Stanford, PALS Clean Campus Coordinator, said, "Teaching young people the knowledge, skills and values of active environmental citizenship is a crucial component of education."
The PALS program focused on education and involvement in community and campus cleanups, recycling and carbon footprints. Along with engaging students in innovative activities and ideas, students were presented with numerous challenges. The program ended with Montgomery Academy students signing a "pledge banner." Each student received a "Don’t Drop It On Alabama" wristband and the teachers received a curriculum guide for incorporating green themes into their program.
