Jessie Lynn Nichols won the title of Jr. Miss SLE Rodeo 2010 and a $500 scholarship check at the Southeastern Livestock Exposition (SLE) and Rodeo at Garrett Coliseum on March 13, 2010.
Each contestant was judged on horsemanship, interview skills and a two-minute speech presentation. Jessie is a freshman at Autauga Academy participating in college preparatory classes and has served as a Senate page in the Alabama State Senate the past four regular sessions. She is a member of the Autauga County 4-H Horse Club where she serves as parliamentarian and chaplain, and rides on the nationally recognized "Star Spangled Stampede" Equestrian Drill Team.
Jessie also serves as chaplain for the Jr. Beta Club at her school and volunteers with the Autauga County Youth Teen Court Program. Also, in February, she was the first appointee to the "National All-Stars Equestrian Drill Team" for the upcoming 2010 USEDA National Competition to be held in Lindale, TX, June 22–26, 2010.
Jessie is the daughter of Bryan and Sherri Nichols of Prattville.
